Henrique Oliveira is a Brazilian contemporary artist. In February 2011, Oliveira spent three weeks in Boulder, Colorado creating a large, site-specific installation for the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMOCA).
The installation was comprised of reclaimed materials brought from his home town of São Paulo. It was produced with the assistance of fellow Brazilian artist Francisco “Chico” Togni. In addition to this installation a selection of complimentary paintings and sketches were presented.
Although many installation artists today produce work that reaches far outside the established bounds of both painting and sculpture, the work of young Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira seems to be almost without peer.
