Upon its reception as a full-blown pandemic, COVID-19 prompted a constrained studio exploration into a bout of existentially-motivated graphic design therapy. The resulting process yielded a conceptual series of COVID-19-inspired print and poster graphics exploring a newfound sense of fear, isolation, and uncertainty in the early days of the novel coronavirus. Rich in metaphor, as a byproduct of empowering type as image, the Social Distance series employs a limited set of graphic parameters to capture an appropriately novel range of feelings and emotions.
